A Trip To Glasgow's Beach For Morton.

A match that had a lot riding on it, particularly for Partick Thistle. Nine points behind League leaders Abroath, but have three massive games in hand.

Thistle welcomed Greenock Morton to Firhill - who are sitting in 8th, four points clear of Dunfermline Athletic - who occupy the relegation playoff spot.

A horrendous night for football, on an even worse pitch, meant there was dwindling numbers from the home support. Greenock Morton fans, however, certainly made up for it in terms of atmosphere. Luckily, I was in the away end.

An uneventful first half, with the conditions playing a part, meant their was very little action to report on, with both sides going in at half-time drawing a blank 0-0.

After a relentless ten minutes from Partick Thistle, the first real piece of action came on the 57th minute. A penalty awarded to The Jags after a jostling for postion for the incoming corner.

Brian Graham stepped up, but saw his penalty saved by Jack Hamilton, who parried the ball straight back to Graham - with his header hitting the post. The ball was collected by Hamilton, leading the Morton fans into a frenzy of celebration.

Morton were second best in what was a tough game of football, but they took the lead ten minutes from time, thanks to Oisin McEntee, sending the Morton fans wild in jubilation.

The game finished 1-0 to the visitors, in what was a poor game of football. It emphasises the importance of supporters attending football matches. The Morton fans sang from beginning to end, and if they weren't there, the pitch conditions and quality of football would not have stood as a good advert for Scottish Football.
