Celtic Confirm Glasgow v Edinburgh Final.

A weekend of Scottish Cup Quarter Final action saw Hearts defeat St Mirren 4-2, Hibs win away to Motherwell 2-1, and Rangers winning across the road from the match I was attending, defeating Dundee 3-0 at Dens Park.

Celtic travelled to Tannadice to face Dundee United, hoping to make it an all Glasgow/Edinburgh Semi Final, and they did just that.

The Hoops were coming into this on a superb run of form domestically, with 73 points, they're sitting three points ahead of Rangers at the top of the table. Dundee United have had a very 'middle of the road' season, in terms of their position on the table. Sitting in 7th, they have almost half the points Celtic have, with 36.

It didn't take long for Celtic to get a grip of the game. Callum McGregor would run onto a short corner on the 12th minute and take a shot from the edge of the box. Dundee United's Nicky Clark stuck a leg out in an attempt to block, but only took it further from Siegrist, making it 1-0 to Celtic.

Dundee United struggled with the tempo and were unable to hold on to possession, much to the frustration of the supporters.

Celtic thought they had grabbed their second, but the goal was disallowed for handball, meaning Dundee United held on and went in at half-time only a goal behind.

Dundee United had a bit more fight at the start of the second half, but once again crumbled around the twelve minute mark of the half. A fumble by Siegrist saw the ball fall for Giakoumakis to make a simple tap in, and double Celtic's lead.

The Greek would grab his second goal, two minutes from time, to make it 3-0 to Celtic, and securing their place in the semi-final.

After the game, the draw was made for the semi-finals. Celtic v Rangers, Hearts v Hibs. Making it a Glasgow v Edinburgh Final of the Scottish Cup.
