Elgin and their handful of supporters made the long journey down to Stenhousemuir, to grab their first win in five games.
It didn't take them long to grab the momentum, with Darryl Hardy scoring a header from close range, following a corner on the 4th minute. 1-0 Elgin.
It was at that moment, one of the Elgin supporters had just came in to the non-segregated stand, and stood open armed in front of 380 Stenhousemuir supporters. That set the tone and direction of any heckling that would be made towards the Elgin team, or supporter(s).
From then on, the game was well contested, with both teams taking turns of having the attacking momentum.
It wouldn't be until the 69th minute that Stenhousemuir would equalise. A superb, direct and driven ball from Brown, was met by Jamieson as he headed it in to the near post, 1-1.
Only seven minutes later, Elgin caught Stenhousemuir on the break. MacPhee got his second assist of the day when he found Dingwall, who cut inside to send the defender and goalkeeper the wrong way. 2-1 Elgin, which is how the game ended.
Stenhousemuir are second bottom, only goal difference saving them, as themselves and Cowdenbeath are both on five points.
Elgin managed to propel themselves up to sixth with that win, who are now on nine points.
Although Ochilview only has two stands, one seated and one standing for well travelled away teams, it carried a great atmosphere, particularly for kids. Under 16's are only £5, with the club giving away free prizes to the kids who attend four games.
A great idea to try encourage kids to attend and support their local team.
