Unable to attend any Saturday fixtures, I decided to head along to East End Park to watch Dunfermline Athletic host Greenock Morton in the Scottish Championship.
Dunfermline sit bottom of the table, occupying the automatic relegation spot, with a game in hand. Morton sit sixth in the table. In a scheme to try and get more supporters through the door, all tickets for the game were £5. As a neutral and an outsider, it was a rather disappointing turnout. But, it could very well have been an improvement on previous attendances.
Dunfermline were in control for majority of the half, but it was Iain Wilson who put Morton ahead on the 42nd minute with a low driving shot.
The home side came out for the second half in similar fashion, controlling the game but unable to find the break.
Same as the first half, the action took place in the remaining few minutes. Dunfermline finally got the equaliser they had been chasing for so long, thanks to Lewis McCann's header on the 88th minute, 1-1.
Dunfermline had one last chance to grab the winner in injury time, but O'Hara saw his effort hit the post.
Morton certainly rode their luck to leave East End Park with a point, with Dunfermline creating more chances and controlling the possession. Again, the travelling support made it more enjoyable and Cappielow is firmly cemented on my 'go to' list.
