Kilmarnock Escape Arbroath With A Point To Go Top.

A beautiful Friday night on the coast of the North Sea, saw 2nd and 3rd face-off in the Scottish Championship.

Kilmarnock were sitting in 2nd on 15 points, only one point off Inverness at the top with 16. Whereas Arbroath were sitting 3rd, with 13 points, but a superior goal difference would have seen them go top, if they were to win.

Nearly 2,500 supporters saw a well contested game. But it was Arbroath who could feel they deserved more than the point.

Arbroath's lone striker, Joel Nouble was the man everyone was watching. Putting in a Man of the Match performance, the 6'4" talisman had bursts of pace, great skill, and hit the post twice.

Kilmarnock put in some great defensive duties, also. Making it look like they had an extra man on the pitch, at times.

Sitting behind the dugout, it was particularly interesting to watch the Arbroath managerial set up. Dick Campbell was nowhere to be seen. His brother, Ian, was animated on the touchline, but not very vocal. Goalkeeper coach, and former Celtic goalie, Rab Douglas, was the one barking all the orders.

The wind from the North Sea picked up in the second half, and made the game more difficult to manage.

Killie finally managed to test the Arbroath 'keeper in the final 15 minutes, when Gaston superbly saved Shaw's shot.

The draw saw the end of Abroath's four game league winning streak, while Kilmarnock miss out on their third straight win.

An entertaining 0-0 draw that saw Kilmarnock go top of the Championship on goal difference. It's just a shame all the fish and chip shops were shut at full time.
