Rangers Run Rampant On Albion's Defiant Defence.

Friday night football saw Scottish Champions, Rangers host part-timers, Stirling Albion in the Fourth Round of the Scottish Cup.

With this being a David versus Goliath fixture, I wanted to consume the occasion in what I thought would have been the most interesting of perspectives, as a neutral.

I managed to get my hands on an away ticket, and I wasn't disappointed.

Ibrox Stadium from the away section.

Stirling Albion were coming into this match on shaky form, having only won three of their last fourteen games. Two of them being in the Scottish Cup against Berwick Rangers and Tranent Juniors, meant the had only won one of their last twelve League Two games.

With that form, it was evident long before the first whistle, The Binos supporters didn't turn up in hopes of a result, they were there to enjoy the occasion.

The game started in an unsurprising manner. Rangers were in complete control, from the get go. Hagi would be subbed off injured on the 12th minute, giving youngster, Alex Lowlry the opportunity to make his debut.

Wave after wave of Rangers attacking play, would eventually break down Stirling Albion's defiant defence. Lowlry would get his Rangers career off to a dream start, slotting away a pass from Bacuna into the bottom corner, from just inside the box on the 31st minute. 1-0 Rangers.

Next up, two penalties within two minutes for The Gers.

John Beaton first pointed to the spot when James Tavernier's corner struck the arm of Albion's McGregor, in the crowded box. The Rangers captain would strike a low driven shot past Currie on the 37th minute. 2-0.

Tavernier would have another opportunity from the spot two minutes later, when Brandon Barker would go down, in what looked a fairly soft coming together with Mason Hancock. The captain would opt for the same side, with Currie anticipating the same, he was able to make the save.

The second half started in similar fashion, with Stirling Albion defending admirably.

Rangers would eventually get their third goal of the evening, just before the hour mark, thanks to Cedric Itten's close range effort.

There was no let up as Rangers continued to storm forward. Fashion Sakala would see his curling effort hit the back of the net on the 84th minute, seeing the game finish 4-0.

An expected result, in the end. Rangers will be happy to secure their place in the next round, whilst having key players out.

Stirling Albion can be immensely proud of their efforts, on and off the pitch, as the supporters backed The Binos, from start to finish.
